Although the boy was already first in his class, his parents increased his homework and scolded him for the smallest errors. Late last year while reading a textbook, the boy suddenly began convulsing and fell to the ground. He recovered several minutes later, but the symptoms have become chronic. The boy’s doctor, Li Xujuan, told news portal The Paper that the boy would break down and cry whenever homework was mentioned during his stay at hospital. The boy is undergoing therapy and showing signs of improvement, but Li worries that he will relapse once left in his parents’ care.
