Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the eighth BRICS summit (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) held in Goa, India, from October 15-16, encouraging all member countries to more closely cooperate for better development.

Data from the People’s Bank of China (PBC), China’s central bank, showed that China’s foreign exchange reserves dropped to US$3166.4 billion in September, US$18.8 billion less than the figure for August, reaching the lowest point since December 2011.

The Shenzhou-XI manned spacecraft was launched on October 17, which then connected with the Tiangong-II space lab after a two-day flight. Shenzhou-XI’s two astronauts will conduct dozens of experiments aboard the space lab over the next 30 days.
