Kungfu Master with a Mission

Vincent Lyn on how martial arts inspired his life, career and charity work in Africa and the Middle East

By Xie Yi Updated Nov.12

Vincent Lyn began studying martial arts at the age of eight. He learned tai chi from his uncle and later mastered his family martial arts style, Kung Fu Lyn.

By practicing martial arts and studying their philosophies, Lyn was not only inspired to become a professional martial artist and kungfu movie actor, but also found another calling - helping children in need through humanitarian work.

While on assignment as a bodyguard in Ghana, Lyn visited a local shelter and witnessed the struggles and suffering of local children. This experience led to him founding We Can Save Children, a nonprofit organization aimed at helping children in Africa and the Middle East.
