A court in Shaanxi Province won online praise for acquitting a father facing assault charges after he beat a man accused of sexually harassing his daughter. According to media reports, when the Baishui County father surnamed Zhang learned of the harassment, he rushed to the accused’s home, kicked him to the ground, punched him in the head several times and threw a bowl at his head. Medical examiners said the man suffered slight injuries. The court based its ruling on the fact that Zhang pled guilty and the man accused of harassment was at fault.

Peng lost his legs in a car accident when he was only a toddler. Besides using wheelchairs, Peng painstakingly learned to use his arms to walk, and excels at sports like badminton. After years of study, Peng sat this year’s national college entrance exam and told media that he hopes to major in robotics so he can make artificial legs for people like him.

In a video posted online in June, the 24-yearold from Hebei Province wears a Chinese traditional wedding dress while holding a childhood photo as she explains how she was trafficked three times since she was 3 years old and wishes that her parents could attend her wedding. When Bai began her search in 2018, her only lead was an address that her adopted parents gave her. Over the past four years, she has visited many cities in search of her parents. Bai is working with police and submitted her DNA to a national database in the hopes it will someday produce a match.


Male Escorts Headline at Hunan Karaoke Bars 
A police campaign is targeting karaoke bars in cities across Hunan Province suspected of hosting male sex workers. Police said a man filed a report accusing his wife of frequenting a local karaoke bar where male escorts are paid to drink with female customers. Media reports said that many of the escorts provided sex services. The news blew up online, where many women mocked they would also like to try what men already have been doing for a long time.
