China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) in conjunction with seven other government agencies released the 2024 Green Technology Promotion Catalogue on January 20, another step to achieve the country’s carbon objectives of peaking emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.

The catalogue selected 112 advanced green technologies related to seven industries, including energy-saving and carbon emission reductions, environmental protection, resources recycling, ecology repair and utilization, green infrastructure upgrading and green services. These technologies aim to provide related industries with feasible green technological solutions to achieve the dual carbon objectives.

Detailed theories, techniques, parameters and application cases are listed for each technology.
According to the NDRC, the next objective is launching activities to promote the application of green technologies and encourage financial support for green technologies via credits and loans.
Analysts said the catalogue provides a technological guideline for green industries and offers support for sustainably developing a green society.
