China-made EV Charging Piles Proliferate Abroad

Auto Review November 1, 2025

By NewsChina Updated Feb.1

For the world’s nearly 58 million electric vehicles (EVs) in 2024, the number of public EV charging piles doubled from 2022 to over five million by the end of 2024, of which 65 percent were made in China. To further tap the potential caused by the gap between EV stock and public chargers, Chinese enterprises are responding to the demands of high-power fast charging in developed countries and basic infrastructure in emerging markets. Despite the sluggish global economy, setbacks to globalization and anti low-carbon sentiment in some countries, Chinese enterprises have adapted to different markets’ standards. Apart from strong energy storage capacity, they build operating platforms to suit local conditions. Experts suggest that charger suppliers should update their market and legal research, integrate supply chains and improve after-service operations.
