China's Jingdezhen Handicraft Porcelain Industry Sites was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List at the 48th World Heritage Committee meeting held in Busan, South Korea on July 25.

Located in northeastern Jiangxi Province, the Jingdezhen heritage site, 7,524.7 hectares in total, consists of five main clusters, 15 constituent components and 45 heritage spots that reflect the entire production cycle, including porcelain production sites, mine sites and material sites. They formed a complete porcelain industrial system for 900 years from the 10th to 19th century.

The UNESCO committee praised Jingdezhen's authenticity and integrity, recognizing its innovative integration with global porcelain-making techniques and arts. It is the world's first heritage site that is themed around porcelain production, and marks the international acknowledgement of Jingdezhen's millennium-old craft and its historic role in cross-cultural exchanges.

The latest inscription lifts the number of world heritage entries in China to 61.
