An AI-charged robot whose creators claim can cut the time of hair transplants in half has raised eyebrows on social media. The robot by ARTAS, which was exhibited at the 2022 China International Import Expo held November 5-10, 2022, in Shanghai, can extract 50-60 hair follicles per minute and automatically adjust to each follicle’s position, Technology Daily reported. Although the exhibited robot can only extract follicles, future versions will have full hair transplant capability, the paper said. Many on social media commented that cost is more of a concern than time, joking that considering their current stress levels, they’ll need some hair work done eventually.
