Some netizens supported the measure, believing it will serve as a warning for smartphone addicts against potential dangers, while others worried that it will encourage them in their addiction and contribute to a worsening traffic situation. “The bureau should punish those who look at their phones while walking rather than pampering them,” remarked one post.
